In our sessions, you will learn to improve your coordination, move easier and efficiently in your daily life and establish healthy habits. We will build on the strengths you have and the intelligence of your body and mind. Integrating the Feldenkrais Method®, you will learn to distribute movements in your body more evenly so that less strain is placed in any one area.
As an occupational therapist, I will support you to gain or regain your Daily Living Skills, discover strategies to adjust to life changes, learn to lead a joyous and skillful life. This includes tasks like dressing or bathing, getting up from a chair or bed, managing stairs and your home environment, using your computer or phone, writing, meal preparation, walking your dog, being socially engaged, playing your music instrument. We look at the areas of self-care, health management, sleep and rest, leisure, play, education, work, social participation. The goal is to promote health and participation in all aspects of life applying the most up-to-date research to service delivery.
Who can benefit from sessions with the Movement Clinic?
Persons living with:
Poor balance, coordination and flexibility or stability in your movements
Chronic muscle and joint, arthritis, repeating inflammations
Repetitive stress injuries
Motor and/or cognitive impairments due to neurological conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis,
Parkinsons Disease, Multisystem Atrophy
Autoimmune diseases
Cognitive impairments
Difficulty focusing and multitasking
PTSD or other trauma
The desire to refine the quality playing your instrument or being able again to go to your yoga class
